Founded by Jackie Atkins, NJGAKAD (New Jersey Give a Kid a Dream) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering at-risk youth more than just boxing—it provides life-changing support. Through the “Champions of Life” approach, the program blends Olympic-style boxing with academic help, mentoring, fitness, social etiquette, and essential life skills.
Children ages 8–18 are referred by schools, social services, and community organizations. After orientation, they receive daily access to training, tutoring, emotional support, and practical skills—from managing emotions to learning how to sign a paycheck.
Unlike existing social programs, NJGAKAD partners with local agencies like Long Branch PD, Monmouth Cares, and the Division of Child Services, bridging the gaps with mentorship and real-world preparation, helping serve children all over the world.
